They've been married for 30 years, that's nothing to sneeze at. She probably looked a lot better when they met. At least she's not fat. Maybe he's attracted to her for her mind.
But he's a psychologist, not a pickup guru.
I like him because he seems to be grounded in good masculine views.

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

PUAs actually aspire to be psychopaths. I'm sure you've read all that stuff about how women are attracted to the Dark Triad traits. These are the behaviors they're trying to emulate, many of them anyway. Jordan is spot on.
