Is the use of sperm donors yet another manifestation of hypergamy?

I was reading an article about the children of sperm donors

and it occurred to me that, as a man who is not able to donate sperm due to being short , the use of sperm donors - especially by single women - is really a manifestation of hypergamy. It seems to me that when a woman gives up trying to find a suitable husband to get pregnant and just gets a sperm donor, she is basically saying, "I am looking for the highest level of DNA, and since I can't find it in a normal relationship, I will simply be in essence, a member of the harem of some attractive, intelligent, and yes, TALL , man by having his baby."

Of course, after such a chick gets herself knocked up, she will try to shame some beta provider to help raise the kid - the same beta whose DNA she had rejected in the past - and complain to internet forums about not being to find a good man.

In a sense there is an equivalent situation for men yet prostitution has not been legalized. Though womens fertility clinics are everywhere...seems a bit inconsistent...

Why are women allowed to get what they MOST want in a safe, orderly fashion (should they chose) while men are denied that?

Wasn't there an Office episode like this where after Jan broke up with Michael she got inseminated at a sperm donor clinic. Hypergamy or better genes to a woman means tall, good looking, inordinately outgoing and confident and rich. Character and intelligence are not valued in a man.
