I am 42. When I was 37 and single again, I didn’t really want to go out to bars and party that way until I realized that I was attracting younger women, and then it all changed and I started having a lot of fun doing it.
I think I was single three weeks, and I went home with the bartender who must have been 25, and ended up blowing lines at her friends apartment and then I was woken up in my Jeep in my friends driveway Easter morning by his father. It normally wasn’t crazy like this. It felt great though to know I still had ‘it’. I didn’t believe I lost it necessarily but I was limited in my thinking to women my own age, and then that happened. Even this year, on St. Pat’s on Stone St. in NYC, at 41, still gaming recent grads. That was fun as it had been awhile. I specifically went out with one friend the same time, because we had a strategy together. We would try to bring other guys but those nights never worked out for picking up women.
Enjoy it while you can. When you’re in your 30’s, age and hormonal balance begin to work against you, not for you like your 20’s. Don’t listen to what anyone says, don’t limit yourself, and more importantly don’t go looking for their approval.
