"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

So about a week ago this local girl contacted me over Myspace. We hit it off pretty well, have a ton in common (it's scary how much) etc. I'm having a hard time figuring out what her intentions are, though.

The issue is this (and it's kind of complicated):

For the past few days she has been dumping a lot of stuff on me. She's talking about her boyfriend (yes, complicated...) of about 2 months. She's talking about a bunch of crap about him, that they had a big fight and she stopped communicating with him. She's asking me for advice, whether or not she should try to talk to him again or give up.

Now, I am retarded with this kind of thing. Why would she be talking about this to me? I have ideas but I don't want to say why, because I may be wrong.

I'm interested in this girl. I just don't know what her intentions are. We talk on MSN, and she always messages me when I log on, just to talk about stuff.

What should I do? What is SHE doing? I am so confused. I don't want to become a crying shoulder for her. I ultimately would like to perhaps date her.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

She is your best prospect at this time, is that an accurate statement?
Good call...

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Would be very accurate. Let's just say that prospects don't come my way very often.

Ah well.

Which means you will act desperate and needy at the first hint of interest from her.

What are your goals?

I JUST ME A GIRL ON MYSPACE TOO, ACTULLY IT IS GOING WELL
OK BEING TOO ALIKE CAN GET BORING FAST, AND TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HERE INTENTIONS ARE JUST ASK HER

The issue is this (and it's kind of complicated):

For the past few days she has been dumping a lot of stuff on me.
She's talking about her boyfriend

^^^WOMEN ARE EMOTIONAL PITS, IF SHES HAVING A HORRIBLE CONCSIOUS THOUGHT, SHE IS NEGITIVE AND SHE IS OBSESSIVE

She's talking about a bunch of crap about him, that they had a big fight and she stopped communicating with him. She's asking me for advice, whether or not she should try to talk to him again or give up.

^^^ TELL HER TO STOP TALKING TO HIM BECAUSE IT MAKES HER THINK ABOUT HIM AND THAT MAKES HER SAD, AND IN A BAD MOOD

Now, I am retarded with this kind of thing. Why would she be talking about this to me? I have ideas but I don't want to say why, because I may be wrong.

^^^ SHE TALKS TO YOU THAT WAY BECAUSE YOUR THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STAND OR TOLIRATE HER AND HER WINEY LITTLE SELF.

I'm interested in this girl. I just don't know what her intentions are. We talk on MSN, and she always messages me when I log on, just to talk about stuff.

^^^^^ SAME THING, MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET HER PHONE NUMBER IF YOUR SO INTRESTED

What should I do? What is SHE doing? I am so confused. I don't want to become a crying shoulder for her. I ultimately would like to perhaps date her

^^ YEAH I AGREE, NOBODY WANTS TO BE AN EMOTIONAL TAMPON , IF YOU WANT TO DATE HER MAN, TAKE THE NESSASARY STEPS.....AND WALK IT OUT......

JUST WALK IT OUT..... ~HOLLOW

Actually, I think I'm giving up. This girl is way too much of a mental case-- she basically sounds like she wants someone to support her so she doesn't have to work, and is ridiculously clingy. She says she expects her boyfriend to spend 90% of his free time with her. Come on... ridiculous

Even I have standards...

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
