her: I work at a bank and I do mortgages. Its kind of slow lately but it's still okay. I used to be an external loan originator and that was tough. You have to kiss butts from builders and realtors so they can refer you their clients.

She's an underwriter, which means loan officer salespeople (originators) send her files, and she looks to see if all of the documentation and paperwork is there to prove that the borrower is a good credit risk for the bank. She would not pull your credit randomly; it shows on the report if she requests it, or whenever anyone pulls your report.

I'd guess she is left-brained. She thinks in black and white, and is a 'law and order' type of person. Her apartment is probably very clean, and I bet she does not have any artsy type habits like poetry or painting. She also does not value creativity as much as a right-brained person, so your off the wall comment did not hit home.

You gotta recognize that being ****y and funny has it's time and place, and, more concisely, you need to CALIBRATE.

When she's talking fairly strongly about what she does and how it is, it's usually best to keep with the conversation. Not so that you can get "left-brained" with her, which of course doesn't maximize the attraction mechanisms, but stay with her to a point to at least show her that you can relate to her level of living.

In this case, I don't think it would've hurt to tell her what you did and what you like about it, as well as a brief description of what it's about.

Calibrate, calibrate, calibrate. This alone, when mastered, can take you outside of the need to question why your "C&F" routine didn't work in situations where having done without would've been more effective.

Relax man. With a few notable exceptions (law enforcement) every time an inquiry is made regarding your credit history, that inquiry is recorded. If it is done without your permission, you can actually sue for invasion of privacy.

As far as law enforcement goes, they have to get a subpoena, and again, there is a record of the actions, if they are unlawful, without cause, again you can sue.

Currently I don't know though, with the patriot acts, it's hard to know what exactly the government can, and can't do without going through a procedure.

Still, I can assure you, if this girl had an ounce of brains, she would not even think about checking your credit history. Now, your account balance, that's another story.
