r0cky when I saw the title of your post I was thinking in my head, "no way!" so I had to open it up and see this story. I've certainly never known anyone to "get" the object of their obsession.
Then your punchline hit me and I actually laughed out loud. SO TRUE! Any time I've become obsessed with a girl (only happened 2 times in my life), I've failed miserably as continuing a relationship with her.

I once got obsessed with a girl and got no where. Cut her off pursued other women and year later she got back to me. I didn't give a sh!t this time and guess what. Yep I got her.
Then as the relationship developed, I turned AFC and she broke up with me. That hurt but I bounced back and got my **** together and pursued other women and stop giving sh1t about her. She then wanted me again. Banged her and tossed her to the curb. She got p!ssed and got into a relationship with another guy. That for some reason hurt me and I turned AFC again.
That experience led me to the journey of true inner game development, the path I am currently walking.
This girl showed me how obsession NEVER get's the girl.. but also how you can weirdly bounce from AFC to ALPHA to AFC to ALPHA even with the same girl. You can go from obsession to indifference to obsession to indifference with the same girl.
It's all inner game.. until you get it rock solid, you are prone to bounce from state to state depending on external influences. You can become a sort of faux alpha. To become the real deal takes incredible inner work and the number of girls you've notched isn't actually an indication of this.

Nah. I did it. I was tired of being obsessed so I figured I had to take a crack at it. Turned out she was even more into me than I was into her. Worked out pretty good.
