I need a confidence builder. And a kick in the pants.

I lost my job today from Wal-Mart. I worked in Sporting Goods and there was a botched gun sale.

I'm blessed with the fact that I'm in no legal trouble, but it still sucks. I'm living on my own with three other guys. One of whom doesn't like me (But he's a d ick, so I don't care).

I need a boost of confidence. Any ideas? My girlfriend lives in Maine, while I reside in NC. I've got very little money.

It's a longggg story.

But, the bottom line, I need to start kicking ass and taking names. Strap on boots and walk the country side. Ya know?

All help is needed and appreciated.

Go to a bookstore and pick up "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino and read it front to back. The book costs less than $10 and you can easily read the whole thing in under two hours. If you're not fired up at the end of that book, I don't know what else to tell you.

Before you do anything else, go to Target, Cosco, FleetFarm, whatever store you guys have that competes with Walmart and apply for seasonal work. You may be able to start immediately with your background.

UPS and FedEx are also hiring seasonal workers, and for better pay than the discount stores.

Keep in mind that these positions will end right after Christmas, and that you must pass a drug test and background check.

Just take the change at the end of the day. I'm heading out later to go look at jobs and pick up a copy of "The Greatest Salesman in the World". Thanks to kyphan, who recommended that.

Any other advice guys? Is there a bootcamp lesson or anything? haha.
