I've got the grey in the beard too, around the chin, so I clean shave (fresh Mach3 blade every time) every four days. Grey is only really slightly visible on the fourth day in the right light.

Shaving is good for exfoliating the skin too..although too often and it's red bumps.

well. There is some scope for it to work I think.
I pretty much do it currently albeit only slightly, on much a lower level. (I knock a few years off my age and use filtered pics)
