"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

How to find out if she has a boyfriend?

Ok, I want to ask this girl out and I have twice, the first time she said she was going back home to another country, the second time she said NO, so I accepted it as it was. Though I went to a dance and she didn't show up, but her best friend did (they never split up). I am wondering how can I figure out if she has a boyfriend or not, because she "seems" free of one (not one in school). I am on good terms with one of her close friends, but I have only been on these terms for about a month. I also go to a tiny school and I do not want to the entire school to know I like her. What should I do?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

There's a such thing as hints. Did she leave? If she didn't, that was your first hint. Second hint, she flat out said No.

And don't lie, you haven't accepted the no if you're still after her.

In the end, move on. Unless it's been "YEARS", (and it appears this is month(s)), she won't change her mind.

there is som truth in what DOCS is saying. especially about the yeats, not months thing. I have tried persistence before, and ended up worse then if I had nexted the girl in the first place.

But if you wait years, then she will most likely have matured, as you will most likely, and you might have a better chance then. As it is, she doesn't give a crap about you.

You had better break off the frienship, and show her you are really after a relationship of a higher level then just friendship. You are setting up yourself for LJBF or a similar variation. And that my friend, is the male kiss of death. Not the end of the world, but pretty close to it as far as that girl is concerned.

cant u take no for an answere?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
