Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
damn...you lost hair? do you mean you were going bald in some places or did your hairline receed? Because damn, when me and my oneitis(chick i used to date) were fighting not too long ago, I noticed that my hairline obviously receeded. I asked my mom if receeding hairlines was genetic in her side or my dads and she said "neither"(which is true)...it was pretty drastic too. We're good now so im hoping that my hairline goes back to normal...how long did it take?SexinEar said:The tension I put on myself from being a shy ass kid who couldnt talk to this dumb b1tch grew so extreme i lost some hair for god sakes. My hair went normal thank god after i got over her, but damn that was a absolute low.
Yea mine receeded, a little bit but if I pushed my hair back it was pretty noticiable. Point being I was 15!!, but it grew back to normal when the stress was gone and i forgot about her and went after other girls and broke the shyness in my case. Get rid of the stress for number 1.Rebound Material said:damn...you lost hair? do you mean you were going bald in some places or did your hairline receed? Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
It's hard to explain. This was back in college so I haven't even seen her in two years. I was basically reacting poorly (and idiotically) to the fact that she didn't want to be my girlfriend and she was angry about it. I couldn't help it because I felt like I got burned for no reason. The last time we 'talked' we just exchanged a "hi" coldly and walked past each other. I graduated the following week. It' s weird that I still think about her because a lot has happened for me in those two years. I guess you still kind of wonder.JJMcLure said:What made her start hating you anyway?
I hope mine grows back regardless...sh!t, this receeding crap just isnt gonna cut it...SexinEar said:And my hair went back to normal in a couple of weeks btw.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
