"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

i met this salon chick about a month ago at a young professionals party and we chatted a little bit, sort of flirty, but her main interest was distributing her cards to help out her clientel. Well she was pretty hot so I ditched my barber and went to her the next week. She remembered me my name and proceeded to really flirt while she cut my hair, giving me various compliments, indiscreetly telling me how cute i was, etc. I played it off as something she does to get business and keep customers coming back. oh well, it was a fun flirt anyway.

4 days later she called my cell phone (she said she always got her customers phone numbers) on a saturday and asked "how my haircut was doing". am i crazy to believe that she was flat out making a move or am i mistaken? i couldn't really talk much because my gf was in the car with me, but she let me know that the number she called on was her cell number (caller id).

i'm going to ask her out anyway, since the only reason i went to her was to get in her pants anyhow, and my current relationship is going nowhere. just curious as to if this behavior was flirting or strictly business. i mean, how many of you have had barbers call you checking on your haircut?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

You've got to ask her out - but I'd guess she is just wanting to keep you around (so if you like the cut, don't ask!!!!).

she said she always got her customers phone numbers
I didn't like this.

Perhaps she's just trying to provide service plus - and figures you'd keep coming back if she flirted.

Bottom line - you've got to ask.

also, to add to this.....her phone number rotated off my phone. What's a smooth way to ask for it again without blowing it?

Stop by her office

To schedule you another appointment for a haircut.

Ask her questions related to her job.....

Before you leave ask her out, but plan it around your schedule not her's.

Her calling you afterwards was a pretty good indication that she was at least fairly interested in you.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
