"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

this is a combined success/warning post for all the up and coming ladies men out there-

I used to be a complete tool until I found this site and realized how counter-productive my AFC ideas were. Well, what I didn't realize was how POWERFUL this stuff was. There was a girl I was moderately attracted to and wanted to get to know so I started pulling all the stops. Acting aloof, being C&F and charming, talking about other girls, treating her like she was just another girl etc. I didn't see any results so I ramped it up and really pushed my game to the limits. I didn't think it was working and got discouraged. But what I didn't realize was that it was working, a lot. My skills made me able to create interest, but my lack of experience made me unable to recognize it (probably like many of you). Sorta like handing someone a gun and not teaching them to shoot.

I found out yesterday that this girl is so into me that she is afraid to make a move, I seem too good for her. I intend to fix that this weekend. ;)

So all of you complainers who say that DJing doesn't work, I say "Bah!" It does work, damn good too. Just be careful what you do with your new ablilites, you could hurt people if you're not careful.

With great power comes great responsibility.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Umm...never read it. That saying is so widespread that it has become common knowledge, it is no longer considered a quote.

I've heard that quote as well, never heard of Excelsior. Sounds like Alkaseltzer.

Alright, that was funny. But "Excelsior" is the catch phrase of the father of Marvel Comics (Stan Lee) the creator of Spider Man and the aforementioned quote.

D@mn, am I really THAT old to be the only one that knows this???!!!!

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Bless you chill, you've kept me from looking like a senile old man (although the medication helps too). :D
