DJ exercises finally have results!

Ok, I began to actively go out to w/ friends with the main intention of macking about three weeks ago. At first, I was piss-scared to approach. But then I finally snapped and got the balls. And I kept on approaching, improving my conversational skills and confidence. And just tonight, while my friends and I were chillin looking for girls to mack on, I see this cute chick on the bus stop. It went something like this:
Me: Hi, what's your name?
Her: Alice ...
Me: (smile) I'm John (shakes her hand)

... we talk about ish, blah blah, yadda yadda ...

Me: I gotta go now, let me get your number.
Her: Ok, you have some paper?

BANG! Number baby! Success, woohoo. And this is only the beginning ...

hey great job azn!

Building some rapport before getting the number is always key.

I personally disagree with what some people say here with just going up to a girl "hey whats your name?" "well i gotta go, whats your number?"

Building a little rapport (2-3 min) is always good and usually increases your chances of getting that number.

Thanks for the support Barbillus. Yeah, you're right. I definitely agree that one should develop some rapport with the girl before getting the digits. That way, you can have something to base your first phone conversation on.
