Let's not forget the most important piece in this chess game. Whether or not she shows up or if something "comes up", or she forgets again or straight stands him up.

I would think that her showing up means her excuse of forgetting was valid and her interest is high enough to smash.

Who cares what she says. It's all about what she does.
