"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I have an acquaintance who I run into often and we were at the bar together when groups meet up. So I see her once a week or so. And lately we've been sort of flirting/escalating with each other when we see each other. She asked me if I wanted to share a cab to our final destinations as she was leaving. I said no, and I'm staying at the bar longer. Is this something I can recover from next time I see her? I will see her in a week when I go back to her town (she lives in another city). I know some may say I'm reading too much into this but with the background I'm pretty sure what was going on. Do you ever go back and escalate with a woman you denied before?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

You, my friend, just set yourself apart from most guys. Don't ruin it by overanalyzing. Spin plates and do you.

I ran into her again, and spent about 3 hours with her, when it was time to leave, I asked her if she wanted a ride home. She said no and shook her head with a smile. I asked her for her number and her response was she didn't want to give it to me there but will next week. I said I guess I could wait another week and she laughed and said she'd give it to me later that night. I left about 20 minutes later and didn't bring up the phone number.
