so what was the real story w Strauss and this chick Lisa Leveridge from the book…?

Some say she used him for his connections in the music biz/ Showbiz ..him being a rock writer etc.

he hadn’t made real money from grifting PUA at that point when he met her afaik, and wasn’t yet famous at that point either.

He’s 5’6” tall and she’s 6’ tall and has looks.
And they were together 2 years or something.

Then she went on to date Robbie Williams after him afaik.

So did he pay her or what lol.
Social Status/Social Circle I guess?

I think it was his connections into Hollywood that was the real attraction. There was a couple of occasions in his book where some chicks were using him and that pissed him off a lot.

Honestly, I like the guy. His books were entertaining and, to me at least, he drew the line where he was trying to help get better sociably versus making money off of people. Rules of the Game was the only dating book I read and I thought that was enough.

Maybe just a matter of taste but at best she's more of a "hot" girl vs "naturally beautiful" girl (i.e., makeup doing a bit of the work with her).

Tall fashion models are attractive to other women and gay men, that's about it lol.

Neil Strauss was a bonafide writer with a quick wit and celebrity connections who mastered game when it was new. Not very replicable circumstances today.

If there's any takeaway, it's use your wit to boost your charisma.

A secondary takeaway relevant to the OP is to make a point to *target* tall women as most men aren't into them, this way you have a comparative advantage.

There is no magical secret to this...time on task, high failure counts to learn from, then success. Literally like anything else in life that anyone wants to become good at.

Most men's failure is from not enough time on task and expecting to become good at it.

It would be like someone that plays golf randomly here and there expecting to become a PGA tour member. It just doesn't work like that. At anything in life.

Re the last statement - only if a guy is cold approaching such women outside of a social niche.

if he’s already “in” and has access, it’s more dependant on his good looks vs his skill. Women will make it pretty easy in those circumstances imo/ime.

an example would be a guy who is a DJ at a house party. A natural friend of mine did this for a while . He told me he never got so many offers from younger women. And he was a cute faced guy who picked up at bars and clubs almost every weekend I rolled with him , in his previous years to his stint as a small time DJ.

I think part of the issue in Strauss's case and in a lot of these kind of dynamics is: what structure is holding the relationship besides his "game"? If u observe reality you see that what holds families together is social systems, not so much any one person's particular charismatic abilities. IMO it's very difficult for long term relationships to survive in the kind of circles Strauss runs in AKA hollywood/celebrity/West-coast new age/liberal affluent society. Sure she might have felt attracted to his clout at times but in those kind of societies, clout, game, what's fashionable changes every 10 minutes. Strauss's game could not stand the test of time. The better bet would have been to leave the circles he was in and plug into a society/culture where social systems would better support LTRs...
