'Being divorced is hot.'

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

100%, and her married friends love hearing about the details
Especially if her husband was not great in that domain and now she gets to experience other guys that are much better.

And yeah, they definitely get the details...which is I why I always warn women not to tell their friends too much about that with me or they will try and get at me at some point while she isn't looking...it happens almost every time.

It's honestly sad how these women have best friends they've known for 10-15+ years that will ruthlessly go behind their back to try and fvck guys they are dating for some better sex and think nothing of it.

If you're 35+ and divorced. That's reasonable. 36+ and never married: Weird.
Depends on how you present it.

I've never been married and I doubt I ever will.

If you just say "never been married" and you're not very socially calibrated, it definitely gives off a "weird" vibe.

But if it's a legit choice, not a cope, it can come across differently.

So when people ask, I say:

"Nope, not married. Been close a few times, a few ladies have wanted me to get married, but for some reason I just didn't think it was for me. Maybe I haven't just met the right person yet."

I have plenty of friends that waited to their 30s to married or are still unmarried with histories of LTRs. The unmarried ones will tell you that they haven’t found the right one right, but they clearly have an underlying issue that pushes women away. For women, they seem to be closet lesbians or alpha widowed by a guy they simply couldn’t replace.

The article is basically a personification of the meme below, since women often recover faster and move on quicker after a break up due to various factors that have been discussed ad nauseam. This tends to happen regardless of whether it’s a marriage, LTR, casual relationship, etc.

That said, everyone has a different experience, and what happens to one person won’t necessarily happen to another.

If this is true then why are alpha widows so abundant

Because moving on quickly and still being affected by someone aren’t the same thing. A person can make a fast transition into a new relationship while still carrying residual feelings, comparisons, or expectations from the previous one. The speed of moving on doesn’t necessarily determine the extent or duration of those effects.

this is completely dependent on options. no one cries if they have a replacement. and... that actually is the deeper issue. not able to be happy alone.

As more men fall for the fantasy of marriage, women are cashing out, publicly shaming their exes, and even throwing parties.

Can anyone name me one viable reason a man should get married in 2026?

Read on: 'Being divorced is hot.'
This is just women trying to convince themselves their life is better. In 3months this "trend" will get replaced by dating sucks/men suck, "Its Girls Night Out" trend.

This is a quote from the article:
"For Bancroft, owning her divorce has been a way to find healing and empowerment following the trauma of the relationship."

I don't know the details of her story, but it's interesting that she chooses to describe the relationship as the trauma. Too often women will take this stance just to justify their decision. She didn't have a husband, she had a source of trauma.
Many women will call a failed relationship "trauma." It is a favorite buzz word for females who want to play the victim card and make the world believe they were some innocent angel who was taken advantage of. Usually, even if the man did nothing of the sort, they also resort to labeling things he did as "emotionally abusive" and "controlling" when, in fact, he just didn't see eye to eye with her and reasonably pushed back. It is an easy way to take zero ownership of her faults for why it ended up where it ended up.

More like:
Being divorced make more men try to get into your pants because they know you'll be easier than when you were a maiden.

men passed the laws that enable this. directly or indirectly. men in there thirst to snuggle up to the woman complaining, over time allowed her to do this. another example where men simply stepping on other men by supporting her against him, and then the problem ballooned.

Smells like wrinkles and grey hair in here.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I have seen women on the strip throwing “divorce parties” where they go out & hit the town.

Women follow every trend.

Imagine how many good relationships or good women social media and social media can ruin?

All it takes is one friend who can convince her friend that divorce is better, and she'll follow, even if her relationship was truly great.

All it takes is a movement like this or a hashtag on Instagram to get them to follow this trend.

It's happening to men, too. They're becoming too feminine. Following trends isn't for men.

Men are on their own path; even if they don't have followers, they have to believe in it.

That's why I've always believed in not getting married, not staying in a relationship with a woman who doesn't respect me or creates drama, learning to ignore the teasing of the "unhappy" people around me (projections), and remaining firm and confident in my values, ideals, and life routines.

Translation:

"Trauma": I take zero accountability or responsibility for the dissolution of the relationship because I did everything right 100% of the time. It was ALL his fault.

"Emotionally abusive/controlling/narcissist": He set boundaries, called out bad behavior, and had his own life with his own friends. I didn't like it because I didn't get my way 100% of the time. I couldn't micro or macro cheat, hang out with my guy "friends" including exes, or troll for likes and attention online.

Because when you're in your 50s and 60s, it's pathetic to "open sets" and "trying out a new opener".
I think that if you are using outdated (by age) materials then you are set up for failure. Something, cool/funny, coming out of a 20 something mouth might sound creepy in your 50’s & 60’s. I feel it’s not about the “sets” it’s more the approach in the situation. Everything has to evolve with age of everyone involved.
