Why not get a 1 bedroom if extra income matters?
I own the apartment, I pay a mortgage on it. You're right though, that doesn't mean I couldn't downsize. However the difference in price between 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom is quite insignificant. 1 bedrooms here are a bit of a scam.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Gotcha, missed that part about you owning it, I assumed most apartments are rentals.
What % of the mortgage are you saving by having a tenant?

Making me seriously consider getting a guy in now. But I should have highlighted "I’m very strict with what I allow in my home - strictly no overnight guests and the tenant must tell me if they want to invite guests over during the day." in my post
This tells me you are a control freak. Your best bet would be someone who has their own home outside the city but needs a place to spend the night during the week while working in town.

The rental income covers 60% of my mortgage + bills + extra charges
Consider that percentage out of your disposable income and see if it makes sense.

You’re 29 and already have a good start entering your prime. The freedom and enjoyment of not having a housemate will be much better for your mental, emotional and dating life

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Having a roommate takes a lot of privacy and decrease your status. It’s different when you bring a girl to your place compared to having another person there.

The only advantage for having a female roommate is that women tend to go to a man’s house for sex. So less chances of them bringing strangers do your home.
But men brings less possible drama and complications.
