wait so even if you work out alot on yer abs dey wont show? it deends on the % of body fat. so all i have to do is have a low body fat and they just appear?

Water, drink lots of it ;). Make it your staple beverage, and, it will burn fat away while you are working out.

for most people they won't show unless you have low bodyfat and you developed them through training

i guess im the lucky one, i dont work them at all and i got a good fat showing 6 pack, and i do 0 situps a day.

its quite simple and its a 2 pronged effort.

To have good, visible abs you must meet 2 criteria.

1. Have strong and well developed abdominals (you do this by working them out ;) )

2. Have a low bodyfat, so they are actually visible.

like jb said

to get stronger/bigger/more developed abs you need to work them like every other muscle group. you can train abs 2 times a week. a basic workout would involve 3 sets weighted crunches, 3 sets weighted leg raises

It's true lower your bodyfat by working out and watching what you eat (well not overeating anyway - i'm not on a diet) and you can start to see it. I am starting to notice this with myself and i'm just under 14%. :)
