How are state officials chosen? Constitutional republics are still democracies.
Democracy is mob rule.
A better form is what we already have: The Electoral College

The US Republic is still a democracy.
But you define democracy as whomever gets the most votes wins, which is not what we have, therefore the US is not a democracy at the federal level....

Republic is a representative democracy.
What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

1) if she does send the AOI over to the Senate, the Republican-controlled Senate would just acquit and Trump stays in office...
2) Is she doesnt send over the AOI, Trump is impeached but not convicted, so he still stays in office....
McConnell has no incentive to cooperate with Pelosi...
Impeachment was never anything more than a political gambit....

Impeachment isn’t even a trial. It just starts proceedings. Clinton was impeached but was never voted out even though he was guilty of perjury to a grand jury. Lol.
Keep in mind Romney hates Trump and would love to convict him. But with this Iran situation he fears the wrath of his Mormon base....
Yes I'm aware. The House voted to impeach Trump but there's been no vote to send the AOI to the Senate.....
Some have argued that until the AOI is sent to the Senate, impeachment hasnt been finalized in the House...
....therefore:
"Trump's been impeached,.....but not really......"
