“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

article: The 5 Years That Changed Dating

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Like BigDave said, it is too hard to meet women in real life and unfortunately apps and online dating have become a trend. Which means if you cant succeed online to meet women you are basically doomed as cold approaching is too low value in today's social climate, it is inappropriate to meet women at work, and social circle options may be too limited to find someone compatable or decent. People are so disconnected that their minds are in cyberspace that nobody is really there. The classic example of a tinder date talking to 3 other tinder dudes while in the bathroom was a good example.

The article notes that in the current political climate, dating co-workers is all but verboten. And who has ever heard of some decent-looking young woman who doesn't have any dates having her friends/family trying to set her up? That was very common in the 50s, possibly even into the 70s. Hypergamy has killed that social meme.

Again, it's interesting that a BLEAK picture is painted from women's experience in online dating, not men's experience with online dating.

The article portrays women wasting their time with lots of guys that ends up as dead-ends or going nowhere for them, or boring or uninteresting dates that they see it as a boring second job. If the joy is sucked out of it for them then they are not happy campers even if they have all of these skewed unlimited options or hyper-gamy as you are saying. On the other hand, if you don't have many options online, I still think you can derive joy from the fact that you are at least trying something, and are not wasting that much time out of your own life and will likely find any date to be a joyful occasion since they are more rare. Depending on what lens you are looking at this, having many options, where the joy is sucked out and it's like a second job, could be worst than having none at all or few when each dating experience is always fresh like you are a teenager. Just an interesting thought I guess.
