I walked up to two women in a square that had been walking across the square and were standing still at the edge of the square. They didn't understand me well when I spoke my language and they told me to speak English. I asked them if they knew a place that had coffee that was open. It seemed they meant especially one of them didn't understand my language so I turned to her and since they both looked Thai I asked her if she was from Thailand. The whole time she had a bitchy facial expression. She replied to my question with a really bitchy annoyed tone: "Why?! You asked about coffee, right?!". I pretended that I was genuinely interested in a place that had coffee and genuinely didn't know any such place, kept talking and tried to be nice for a few seconds, then walked toward where the nice one said there was a café. Before I walked off they seemed like they were trying to end the conversation and move away from me.

I took it personally and wondered if with another guy she would have smiled and giggled and said "Yes I'm from Thailand, and you, where are you from?" Oh, well, I managed to get a date with 3 women out of 8 approaches in December. But might just have been a streak of luck. Two of those approaches were almost identical to this one in terms of what I did. One of the approaches was different in that the woman had sat down really close to me on a bench in a subway station even though there was a lot of space, so she more or less approached me, something that happens very rarely to me, happened only once in 2017. I was the one to start talking though.

Cold approach is tough and if you've scored 3 dates from 8 approches then you need to be writing about pickup-game instead of reading about it. I personally believe that 1 out of 10 is a solid ratio. Your success rate is close to 30% percent and if you maintain that ratio you'll soon have more women than you can physically handle.

In my opinion it's best to be direct on cold approaches.No need to feign inquiries about coffee shops. Just come right out with it: "Wow you look terrific. I can't talk long but I want you to join for a drink. Will you meet me?"

A problem I have is that my social reactions often are slower than I wish. A lot of times I'll realize only afterwards that I should have done a certain thing, like for example walk away. But maybe you get faster with practice.
