Laws of Power.. How to Win Friends and Influence People. That is all you need. But let me add one thing when you are dealing with other people... you mentioned that you should treat all men with courtesy on meeting them...

I prefer what I call the "Man in the Dark" theory. When you wake up at night and there is no light.... how do you move through the room? Well you take careful steps and you reach out with your hand until you find the light switch.... you do not take big steps and you DO NOT lead with your face.

When dealing with people you do not know, then don't lead with your face... this does not mean that you have to be courteous, but you CAN NOT put all your cards on the table... don't share too much of yourself when you first meet people. Ask questions... let them talk, you can not size up people when you are talking. A good rule of thumb is whenever you meet anyone, before you share anything about yourself, learn 5 things about them that you did not know before you met them. I take it one step further... I won't really share anything about myself unless I'm asked.

Use good body language and keep your mouth shut.

You don’t undercut people. A man brings himself up. He doesn’t push others down. The only time he will kick someone when they’re below him is if they try to drag him down with them. But you should never associate with those people in the first place.

I have dealt with the "bullying" part of this in the military. It was young guys under 25 fraternizing in basic training. People under stress, lack of sleep, and feeling like **** would push people to this in such environment. It was not always dealt properly by the staff too, even though they tried. The results were devasting for folks subjected to this assault (suicides, mental breakdowns).
