"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I've gotten to the first part of approaching them :laughs: but the actual dialouge is hard to come up with and I always end up getting quiet and asking them boring questions or I end up doing the other extreme and treat them like a guy friend.

Any websites/books that any of you DJs can recommend?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

um.... this one. duh.

are u good at conversation normally? can u talk to a GUY u havent met without getting quiet and freaking out? if so, then it shouldnt be hard for u. girls are people too. just talk to them about anything. they wont bite, trust me. unless, u want them to. kinky....

if u arent so great at talking, i suggest talking. talk. talk a lot. talk to lots of people. girls & guys. talk on forums like this. talk to people online, over the phone, and in person. just talk! thats the best way to get better at something, practice it!

^ agree, the brother needs to get out and practice, but he is also asking WHAT to say. C'mon, if he has zero material right now, you can't expect him to talk about the weather with 50 strangers and not want to shoot himself huh?

Deeg, some people here might not like this idea, but I suggest you look up some asf stuff on games, tests, openers, etc (eg at www.bristollair.com). Those things usually lead to fun conversations where you can cold read them, do palmistry, etc. Might sound kinda corny to us guys, but chicks do eat that sh1t like candy.

i didnt tell him anything to say because it has to come natural. i want him to become good at natural conversations, so he can think of what to say for himself, based on the situation. thats the best way to go about it. and if he still needs something to say, i referred him to this site, so..... search for talking points and number closes and such.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I get what you're saying, but also realize that things "come natural" at very different rates for very different people. When we learn new things, of course the idea is for them to come natural, which eventually comes with practice. That doesn't mean, however, that we contain all the answers within us: some posts here and asf, to name just two resources, are great for getting guys started with some canned stuff/drills. The idea is not to use five or six lines for the rest of your life, but to use them in the field until you catch the dynamic and can come up with your own stuff, whatever you might want it to be.
