"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

So I was "farming" POF as I usually do.. sending mass emails to random chicks.

I usually go for older chicks because they're easier, but apparently I sent something to a chick 12 years younger than myself.

After only 2 short emails (in one she said there were "too many crazy people" on POF) she gave me her cell number. I gave her mine back and since then she's been completely blowing up my phone with text messages.

To the point where if I don't get back to her within an hour or so she sends a "Are you there? What are you up to?" message.

I'm used to texting a couple of times to set up a meet and then silence until the meet. But I can't set something up with her right now because I'm booked solid for the next week.

Is this a mid-20s kind of thing? She's just sending me mundane observations and general chitchat. Older chicks don't do that until they feel we're in a bit of a "relationship." She's fairly attractive.. 8 body and 7 face. Partly Hispanic too, whom I don't usually date. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I hope you realize 99.999% of chicks who are on POF are nutjobs, sl0res etc.

That being said how do you know it's the chick in the pictures? Have her text you a pic of herself. She could have old pics up or someone elses and is desperate for a good looking dude.

Someone who texts random strangers that much after two emails is either a nut, desperate, not the person in the pictures and most likely all of it.

Chicks give out their numbers a lot on there to good looking dudes. But texting like crazy all the time? Somethings wrong..

bro, I've been doing online dating for a decade, I think I know what's out there.

I'm specifically wondering, not about generalities regarding the "nutjobs" online, but about youngish 25 year olds who carry on extended text conversations. Is this the norm?

I'm still looking
This might be easier than you are making it out to be. I can think of two conclusions you should draw from this:

1) She has high interest and wants you on her radar.
2) She'll be a tease. Want your attention. Be a general flake towards any attempt to actually hang out.

Is it NORMAL? I would say that it isn't strange she is texting you a lot, but normally girls have a support network of numbers to choose from regardless. She is thinking about you so that has to be a plus. If she is like this even after you two agreed to hang out then why even bother getting coffee somewhere. Odds are she'll be DTF in 1 hour max.

Lemmie put it this way, girls send thousands of messages a month. There are "how fast can you text?" contests.

tl;dr

It's normal.

^^^ cool thanks that addresses my question helpfully. I guess I'm curious as to how she could have high IL after basically 2 throwaway emails online. Which is why I'm wondering if it's standard practice for younger chicks to move the convo to text as soon as possible.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I usually can't relate at all to chicks under 30 so I guess I'm just worried about messing this one up, or losing interest myself if the chick keeps texting me all the time.

I'm guessing at this point she's looking for orbiters. I'll have to wait until I have a free night and can suggest something to do. If she disappears I'll know.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
