"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

working on girls that are constantly "packaged" with a friend

I recently started med school, its been two weeks. I've noticed one interesting and pretty annoying trend that the girls here seem to be doing with alarming frequency. Every girl it seems here at school is packaged with a "girlfriend" who never seems to leave their side. So you always end up talking with two girls at once, and then hanging out with two girls at once, and then going out with two girls at once which is fine... but I think I can count nearly 10 pairs of girls now that I can't seem to get any viable alone time with.

Also it seems like every time I seem attracted to a girl, her "other part" always seems more attracted to me. Is this some sort of insidious defense strategy?

So far, my plan the first couple of weeks has been to play it casual and fun. I'm always nice to both girls, flirting with both, and always saying things like, "let's hang out" or "you guys should come over" and leaving the invitations open ended. I make an effort to try to show social affection to both but always keeping my real target in mind...

My idea is, if both girls think I'm a great guy... it can't hurt my chances when I try to engage my real target... The question is, how do I engage one girl while shrugging the other one off? A lot of times these girls are roomates... so its awkward. Advice needed, thanks.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

and as a farther extension of this how about that unwritten rule that if one friend likes you then the rest of her friends can;t even if you have no interest in her. Damn CBs.

You have to expand the gathering to more than the three of you and you have to be sure there are a few mutual friends there to keep the third wheel socially involved. You basically want to create an atmosphere where you can ease your target to the side without the friend going into an "I'm alone" panic attack and hunt you two down when you're working the alone time.

Thanks for the advice,

DJDanny,
God, I hope that unwritten rule doesn't really always apply. Girls can be so stupid.

Good tip man, I guess I'm going to have to play it day by day. What your saying is, I need to produce more one or more wingmen to distract the "other girl". I don't always have friends around to play the wingman part... As you may imagine, i spend a lot of time doing work... so I try to engage in conversations at the library, stores, places to eat out... etc. But, I think I catch your drift.

How about this: on your way to a date with both, pick up one of them so the two of you have time alone before meeting up as a group. Or, regardless of who's driving, make sure that one girl gets dropped off first (the girl you like least) so that you're alone with the girl you're actually interested in for the latter half of the trip.

Actually, if the girls are hot for you, they may exploit one or both of the strategies themselves.

Also, it's important to befriend not only the HB but their average or below average looking girlfriends: they will definitely be talking amongst themselves and forming a consensus about how desirable you are, so you do have to be diplomatic and at least friendly with both the UG and the HB.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
