"Women want a bulwark against their own emotionalism, not a co-equal male emoter whose emotionalism would compete with her own. The belief that male vulnerability is a strength is a slippery slope from misguided attraction to emotional codependency, to overt dependency on a woman to accomodate and compensate for the weaknesses that vulnerability really implies.
A chink in the armor is a weakness best kept from view of those who expect you to perform your best in all situations. If that chink is revealed in performing your best, then it may be considered a strength for having overcome it while performing to your best potential. It is never a strength when you expect it to be as such."

It's never black and white, we are humans and not robots. Having emotions and showing them is part of life. It's all about context and situation which gets abit confused in the thread.
Is it attractive to a woman? never.
But it's necessary to show that you're a human and it brings yourself closer building that connection, in a LTR.
The problem with saying that showing emotions is a good healthy thing is that most guys will take it literally and become emotional women showing emotions as much as possible, which is the opposite of emotional strength and being the 'mountain in the storm' that makes us men attractive to the feminine.
It should be used more like sprinkling salt on the main course than the other way around.
Vulnerability is not a strength, and especially not when a man deliberately reveals it with the expectation of a woman appreciating it as a strength.
