I believe some of them brags about it too, that they rejected a guy and takes pride in doing so, then she'll told her circle of friends about it that this guy asked her out but she turned him down. It's one sure way to boost her ego. lolSeymourCake said:

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

If they reject you, they get the validation of you wanting to go out with them, but they don't have to put out. There's probably some logic in there about how that makes them more chaste, since they're choosey about who they sleep with. It's almost a win/win for them.

It's ego. "I reject because I CAN. I'm so hot that I turn guys away."
Her whole existence is based on being hot or at least thinking she's hot plus all of the power trips that come with it.
This can be offensive to young guys and understandably so. When you get older or possibly sooner, it can become laughable or at least so lame that YOU roll your eyes.

This pi$$es me off.
What I find worse is they act like school children when we reject them. I remember chatting to a HB in a bar some time ago. We kissed and I pulled away - she must have had a cigarette not long before.
For me it was disgusting, although I was polite to her as I walked away. Her reaction, going crazy called me every name possible and tried to spoil the rest of my evening by letting everyone know in the establishment. Even the security guys came over wondering what I did.

And how do you think women feel when men reject them? Many are unfazed, as they have beta orbiters to back them up. You don't see or hear that many stories of men with female beta orbiters.
