"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Why asking for advice isn't always good

I notice a LOT of people on here asking for advice on just about everything. While some of the questions are good, some aren't. Here is why:

You won't get the best results from other peoples advice. We don't know the whole situation, don't know how you think, and don't know exactly how thing will turn out.

Besides, it is best to do something and then learn from it. You'll learn 10 times more from DOING than from just trying to get advice. Go talk to a girl. Go ahead, any girl. Now write down anything you want advice on. Ask for it, but go talk to another girl before reading the advice. Now do it again and still don't read the first advice. Ok, now come back and read the advice. I bet that some of your questions got answered once you actually did something (approached the second and third time.) Plus, I bet you learned some new things too.

Remember, you don't become a great baseball hitter just by asking. You don't become a great driver just by asking. You don't become a great salesman just by asking.

You go out there and just do it to become better.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

this is great advice.
In fact for the most part this is the only advice you should need.
Experience.

Hey Eternal, how's your web site going?

I know I promised I would be active on it(cricket was my user name) but I haven't been.

Shortly after I said that, my dad got cancer and then he died last month. So I've been pretty fuucked up. So I hardly ever post anymore. I guess I just don't care at the moment.

Hey man, sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you bounce back out of it and become the Helter Skelter you were before.

The site is currently defunct until I decide on what to do with it. Not a lot happened with it to begin with anyway.

Glad to see you back, even if it's limited.
