In my opinion, this applies to almost every white-collar job. If employees don’t need to be on-site or visiting customer locations, the work can be done from anywhere in the world.

Not all white-collar jobs are entry-level customer service roles for basic products or rewards programs. I began my career as a CSR, and while there was a team in India, most of the complex or cross-functional tasks had to be managed by Americans.

I think the preferred move for white collar employees right now is to stay put and try to ride it out at a current employer.

Most folks are hanging on in quite desperation, praying for The Almighty/Fortuna/The Source to deliver them from whatever they're dissatisfied with. This is less surprising than learning that soldiers devolve into My Lai-level barbarism, absent strong leadership

Caught? Inaccurate? Gaslight? Repeating something multiple times doesn’t make it any truer than the first time you said it. If you really think I’m guilty of everything you’re accusing me of, back it up with evidence.

Getting laid off is a major issue for men in terms of their sex lives. It doesn't matter what a man's relationship status is at the time of the layoff, there is likely to be some impact.

Most white collar men in relationships are dumped due to their layoff. Men in non-marital relationships who don't live with the girlfriends are the first ones to get dumped because it is easier for those women to exit. Those girlfriends usually exit within 3-4 months, which is often not enough time to get another white collar job. The married men and the men living with their girlfriends get a little bit more leeway with the breakup because those breakups are a little bit more difficult. These men might get 6-12 months before the divorce papers or breakup happens. In this market, that might not be enough time to get a new job.

How ironic that getting laid off results in not getting laid.
