What is Backbone

I was reading the Bible, and fall into the Nice Guy category,

I have the decisiveness,
I think I am really getting the confidence,

But what really is backbone, can someone define it?

Whats the difference then between decisiveness then? Is not decisiveness knowing what you want, being taken advantage one of them? Or is decisiveness just taking action, where backbone is knowing when someone is taking advantage?

Having a backbone means that even through the toughest of situations you keep your character.

Having a backbone means you are a mammalian male and you walk on 2 legs, you are not a slug, you are not a sloth, you are a tree standing tall and firm and you can weather any change in the weather, and over time, you will get beaten up, but no one can ever bring you down except some damn loggers

Decisiveness in and of itself does not denote strength, it merely shows that you don't ponder over crap too much. However, someone can be decisive and still change his mind once some bytch tells him she doesn't like blahblah or blah about him or his lunch plans.
