And why does it keep coming up with the Trump campaign? Why was it campaigned against in Britain even though the people liked it? I have a a vague idea of what it is, but not clearly.

Britain had a referendum/vote to leave the EU (European Union). The vote to leave won even though all mainstream media, actors, singers, and even Obama went over to Britain to campaign for Britain to stay in the EU. Apparently Obama made some threats that if Britain left the EU, there would be world war 3.

The citizens still voted to leave the EU and British PM resigned as a result of the vote since he told everyone to stay in the EU and started the referendum himself. Britain is now slated to leave the EU in a couple of years hence the term, Brexit.

Italy just had a referendum where the ITalian PM launched a vote to grant himself more powers/authority. It sounds a bit bad but the 3 major banks in Italy are about to collapse/default on debt payments and the Italian PM launched a vote to give him more power so they he could pass laws more quickly that would bail out their banks. He said he'd resign if the vote failed. The vote failed on 12/4/2016 and the Italian PM resigned. Not necessarily an Italian exit from the EU but people see Italy leaving the EU soon.

Italy is the 3rd largest economy in the EU and is 10x the size of Greece. If Italian banks fail, Germany/EU will not be able to bail them out unless they print Euro's to no end. The Euro is almost 1:1 on the dollar and printing more euro's will only make the situation worse when multiple countries are already in a recession even with negative interest rate policy in place.

Another Trump/Brexit similarity is that the polls were completely wrong going into the election. That isn't supposed to happen.

The UK was getting forcefully stuck with Syrian refugees as terms of their EU membership. They were literally not allowed to refuse the refugees. Many people in the UK saw that as an insult to the sovereignty of their country.

The EU is on the verge of collapse right now. They are struggling to re-invent themselves and redefine the terms of the agreement.

There are no such things as "refugee crysis" only wrong border control policies, anyway yes this whole mass migration from third world countries got the brits to vote for brexit and the italians to vote against the gov in the last referendum.

Anytime the people is given the choice they say they dont want immigrants especially because migrations to Europe come from muslim countries, and as a european I can say we dont need any more, we instead need to kick out plenty of those already here.

Not because of "race" but because they are a pain in the ass with their culture which is not compatible to ours and because in terms of welfare they suck more than they provide.

Any european country when called to vote, votes like this thats why the european commission gets butt hurt only to hear the word "public vote"...they themselves are not elected from anyone, the european parliament which is somehow elected has in fact no virtual power.

First....if you look at this refugee crisis, it really makes no sense. Why is Europe letting in all these Arab refugees? Out of the kindness of it's heart? Well why doesn't it let in refugees from Africa? Middle East refugees are let into the EU by the millions and can freely travel to any country while African refugees are shunned and repatriated. If it was purely about a declining population (which Germany uses as a bs excuse) then they would let anyone in regardless of country of origin. It'd make more sense to allow people from Africa as there is more western influence and culture there than there is in the middle east (Africa was colonized by western countries). Instead, they let in refugees by the millions from warn torn, terrorist infested Syria and Iraq with little to no vetting process at times. These refugees* (they have to know terrorists slip through these cracks since there is no vetting) then go on to rape, steal, and riot because they can't assimilate into western culture. Perhaps it's because they're not even taught how to assimilate and just let in by the masses.

Majority of the EU is already in a recession so it makes no sense to let in mass amounts of refugees that not only don't add to productivity, but are also a drain on resources (refugees are provided food and housing). The difference in culture is so drastic that without training or classes, you could only expect this.

Global central banks are printing money out of their a$$es just to maintain a recession....can you imagine what would happen if they didn't create money out of thin air? We'd see the entire global economy collapse. Japan and Europe already have negative interest rates (which means they charge you money if you have money in the bank...all this to force you to spend your money).

The US labor force participation rate is at a 40 year low. Almost 1/3 of our population is unemployed and we're at record level of people on government assistance. This is also mirrored in Europe as well and you can see that reflected in the populace's vote in ousting the status quo for anything but the status quo.

This is a good point. Blame the refugees and fix the problem by getting rid of them a few generations later i.e. mass genocide. It's happened before.

Increasing debt that can never be repaid. The control of their own control and laws without having bureacrats that don't understand their country make laws and pass laws for them (European Commission aka Brussels Bureaucrats that aren't elected by the people of the EU member states).

All the while the rich get richer and the poor stay poor and get poorer. The only ones who can actually benefit from low interest rate policies are the rich. They're the only ones who can actually afford to take out loans and buy up everything. Housing prices are at 2006-2007 peaks because low interest rates made it affordable for people who have money to buy property. Rich people have bought a ton of property in this low interest rate environment because they will essentially pay little to no interest on their borrowings. While the rich are buying things up, the poor are just sitting on the sidelines. The price of everything slowly gets jacked up the rich buy it up, while the poor are still stuck renting. Rents are rising because the poor can only afford to rent, housing prices keep rising because the rich keep buying. Now you have housing prices at all time highs and rents that are also just as ridiculously priced in major cities.

The world is looking more and more like a two tiered society. Rich vs Poor. Who is benefiting? The rich.

I think Britain is taking the right steps. How are you supposed to protect your country and its citizens if you don't even have control of who enters your country. Leaving the EU will allow Britain full control of it's laws and immigration policies again. instead of refugee/immigrant drains that require more policing and less productivity as a whole (not saying immigrants aren't good but the way these refugees are let in, is not good). Having to be responsible for another country's debt problems such as Greece, should not be part of another country's responsibility. Leaving the EU will definitely make this easier. Most countries have their own debt problems to worry about let alone add another country's debt problems to it. They're saying that leaving the EU will forfeit the travel benefits that EU member states have where you can freely travel to any country without problems and trade benefits will be taken away. I'd forego those for the safety of my country and having control over it again.

So many issues were the cause of the collapse of the EU we're slowly seeing today. For one, it destroyed everyone's domestic currency and made majority of the countries adopt the Euro. Countries were not properly vetted before allowed into the exclusive EU club. Greece should have never made it in. Taking away domestic sovereignty for countries and allowing unelected officials in brussels make decisions on behalf of all member states. The EU was the first test in seeing how it would be if the world were to be united under one government. As you can see, we're still not ready to all be united under one banner. Countries want their own sovereignty, control, identity, culture, borders, etc.

This image is another telling reason why the UK choose to leave. David Cameron and his partner in crime - George Osborne thought they could sweep this under the table last year. The public are no mugs and certainly remember when this was published. It was certainly a factor when I voted to leave.

It's more than just immigration in my opinion although that certainly stoked the British public up the wrong way. When you get a bunch of unelected beaurocrats imposing themselves on a country then it is inevitable that it will cause unrest. Doesn't help when the mainstream media were fully behind the remain campaign also.

It caused uproar on social media. I had friends who were crying and in dismay that we choose to leave. Even enough to fall out with each other. I was over the moon with the result.

The best way to solve the refugee crises is for Russia to win the war in Syria, as soon as possible and bring stability back to the region.

Non-Syrian migrants are mostly chancers, trying their luck. Which is why they are almost all male and under the age of 35.

Personally I am very pro-EU, though for deeply unfashionable reasons that I am also pro-imperalism. Britain has been at its best when either part of an empire or running its own empire, the chances of us running our own empire again are zero, so better to join it with the next closest thing than become just a damp little isolated island, like we always have been between the variours empires over the past 2000 years.

For the amount of money the UK paid in to the EU we should of been running the show, but instead years of British dithering meant the Germans and French dominated, and the Germans are still so wrapped up in post-war guilt they were useless when the migrant crises started and made things much worse than they needed to be.

Next 100 years will see the steady decline of the UK and probable eventual colonisation, not physical, more along the lines of Argentina in the 19th centruay when Britain had them by the balls, except in our case the Chinese will be ass ****ing us, and like all good biches we will ask for more.

What we should be doing instead is driving a EU pro-imperalist agenda, we have the best culture in the world, no reason why it should not be exported to the rest of the world for their own good.

Damn such a long time ago yet forgot to answer you, well decisions in europe come from the european commission which is not voted directly from the citizens, plus a number of "commissioners" which again are not voted from the people...if you need an example of a former president of the european commission think of jose barroso which "somehow" got a top management job at goldman sachs...what a coincidence.

Regarding countries who chosed a governemnt which disagrees with europe (see italy, hungary currently) they often resort to financial warfare to attack them, open threats about those countries being "unstable" till they get back in line.

By tying all the economies together, banking can more easily control the production in Europe or so they thought.
