may I recommend some gold earrings from costco (or sams)? All around $100 and you cant go wrong with precious metal. In your case, since the GF is younger, go for the ones that 'drop' more. It's a classy gift.

As you've rightly said yourself recently, giving experience is far better than material goods. Especially in this age when everyone has more than they need anyway.
