You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
Some form of playing games is not necessarily IOD, but it is behavior that as soon as you encounter it, you should let women know only ends up not taking them seriously. It is true though, that the higher the IL, the less game playing she'll pull. When she has sex with you, and even then it's not a sure IOI.
I'd also say not confusing you.
There are a bunch of sure IOD's such as:
1. Flaking
2. Making excuses
3. Not returning your calls
4. Playing games
5. This list can go ad infinitum.
Case closed.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
This happens to me today , IOf course there are the obvious one--eye contact, hair playing, finding excuses to talk to you, etc. But there's a couple that you might mistake for negative interest.
For me the #1 sign of a girl's sexual interest is that she gets offended/pissed/frustrated at something I say really early on in the interaction. Seems a little counter-intuitive, but it's indicative of heavy investment before she even knows who you are--to the extent that her reaction is totally disproportional to the situation (often harmless, maybe ambiguous remarks). It's kind of a case where she throws the whole **** test upfront (she's subconsciously giving you an opportunity to provide her with a rapid DOWN/UP emotional experience where the only way to totally diffuse the situation is sex).
Another one that guys might confuse with disinterest is when a girl is visibly conflicted--maybe even avoiding you or a situation where the two of you might end up alone, avoiding eye contact, or becoming really quiet. Basically making every effort to put on the breaks because she knows that if she puts herself in that position she won't be able to stop herself from being carried away by her natural desires.
But really you should focus more on if she's doing enough to interest you instead of figuring out her levels of interest. In a lot of cases, dudes are approaching too late (waiting on signs from her) and bailing too early (mistaking more complex emotional reactions for disinterest), limiting themselves to only the really obvious lays.
