Weight-Lifting Starting Routine Question?

I want to start weightlifting..but I don't know where to start.

First, I want to find out what I can push, and how many reps and sets I should be able to do. How do I find this out?

Second, I want to gain muscle in the arms, shoulders and chest. A little bit of leg wouldn't hurt either. I'm skinny.

Third, how often should I work out per week, and if I can't do that much in the week, should and how can I adjust my training to keep the same progress.

Fourth, how do I progress to heavier weights and/or more reps/sets?



That's about it. If someone could take the time to answer in detail...that'd be awesome!:woo:!!

Okay don juan player-boy, you're in my realm now, forget the arms/chest/shoulders beach muscle crap for the ladies, in H&F WE SQUAT AND PULL UNTIL OUR EARS BLEED AND WE PUKE ALL OVER THE GYM FLOOR. lol!

Just kidding. Good luck with it all. :) Train hard, eat hard and you'll get where you want to be. :)

what would be a good schedule for optimal growth though...like wake up at __ eat breakfast at __, work out at __....any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you read my guide? it explains it pretty well.

WHEN you work out is when you feel best.. it doesn't really matter as long as your nutrition around the workout is good and your gym perfomance is sound.

Warboss...I read your article, and it looks like a good start.

I'm just wondering, since I'm a newbie to weightlifting, should I still find the weight that I can do 5 reps at and start from there, or should I be focusing on something else first?
