We need more moderators

In light of recent juvenile antics on this web site, we need to make more people moderators. I mean nothing against our current mods, but the more people we have who can delete the garbage, then the less time it will stay on the site.

I suggest that we take a couple dozen users off the top of the "members list" link above, when sorted by either reputation or post count, and make those people moderators. I am included in that list, but I would be fine with this group having less power than the other mods and only directed to delete spam and the obvious kkk bullsh1t that is all over the site right now. The less time it stays up, the less of a thrill it is for the kid posting it. He will get bored and go back to his porn, and we can get back to seducing women.

I wouldn't mind having a couple more mods around but it really isn't necessary at the moment. We have 3-4 really active mods that do a good job of keeping the forums clean. Sometimes things just take a little while to clean up, but the new forum system makes moderation pretty easy.

I think the members database should be purged of all truly inactive accounts (e.g., accounts with 0 posts; accounts registered long ago and never visited.) How would that solve the problem of spam? I don't know, but I think a cleaner database would improve performance at least.

I've always had a deep seated desire to moderate a forum... but then I remember my plans to never be a parent. Scratch that idea off the list.
