Has anyone ever noticed that your voice pitch seems to change along with your mood and temperment? I hit a low patch recently, my confidence was down ... and I was amused to notice my voice seemed slightly higher in pitch, and I couldn't really seem to change it.

Anyone else ever experience this?

When you are nervous or scared the vocal cords in your throat subconsciously tighten, thus giving you a higher pitched tone. Its a sign of a lack of mental poise when you talk in a higher than usual pitch on a regular basis.
You need to calm down and relax, annunciate your words.

If your ever feeling down on confidence levels you need to:

  • Carry yourself in a confident manor. Walk with your head high, shoulders back and relax.
  • Do a visual meditationi. Visualize positive energy going in and negative energy going out. This is something to practice every morning before you begin your day. Excersise helps too.
  • To relax, pretend theres a potato chip between your teeth but you don't want to break it. This will relax the rest of the muscles in your body and get rid of tenseness.
  • Enjoy life. Keep in mind tommorow is never promised, carpe diem.. sieze the day

I've heard some say that women respond to deep, resonant voices. This makes sense, but I've never tried it out myself. My voice will go pretty deep when I want it to, but I prefer to not focus on that and just talk naturally. Has anyone experimented with using the pitch of their voice to attract women?

I've also seen a study that said that when a woman is ovulating, the pitch of her voice goes higher, which makes her more attractive to men. So if you use this in reverse, a deeper voice should attract women. I remember seeing Trace Atkins on some talk show one time, and the female host mentioned something about his voice making her hot (he is a country singer with a very deep voice if you've never heard of him).
