The problem with PUAs is that they're all about trying to look good to their peers and their reputation on forums like this, so a lot of what they say is based on lies or exaggerations and a lot of their videos are staged.
You would do much better to go to a club or bar and look out for some naturals at work.
I used to spend a lot of time observing interactions when I was out. The real naturals didn't run any techniques or do any of the things you see/read PUAs doing. They just make lighthearted conversation and gauge if the girl is responding. Most of the time, once the natural breaks the ice, the girl will make it easy for him and it becomes a mutual connection rather than a pick up.
One guy I remember pretty well had these two gorgeous girls fighting for his attention and he just stood there and barely said a word. He just listened and nodded while they were the ones trying to qualify themselves. This is the approach I take with women now and it's what has always worked best for me.

at one stage in my life one might have said i was a 'natural'.
i never needed to approach women in my teens/20's or early 30's.
but that all changed in my late 30's.
i'm 40 now and i still don't have a clue.
what i do know is there isn't a hard and fast rule.
as humans we embody limitless possibilities.
but the advice given here is generally sound. regardless of what that possibility may be.
just make sure you don't take advice from skinnyguy or Solomon. lol.
