Should a DJ buy his girlfriend anything for valentines day?

didn't know if i could pull it off until i could find someone to babysit our son for 4 days but i'm going to surprise my wife with a trip to maui on Monday. I figure on tuesday she would be expecting it, so i want to get it in a day early.
as you get older you start to appreciate valentines day for what it is. I ask a ****load from my wife and she does it all with no questions asked with a smile on her face. doesn't ask for anything in return but my love and my commitment to her. That woman is truly devoted to me and our family and I love her for it. so valentines day is all about her. It's not even about the money as much as it is just doing something 1000% for her and no one else.
lol when i was single i used to to go the jazz bars on valentines day alone. you are pretty much guaranteed to get laid by some bar fly who needs some VD lovin, it's kinda like the Christmas thing when people want to be with someone.
In fact, I'm glad you brought that up. lesson to all you DJs out there who have more than one plate.
at some point, a girl is going to ask you what you did for Valentines day. The worst thing you can do is give her an answer. Because uo can't win. If you spent it with another girl you are a scumbag. If you didn't, you are a loser. just tell her not to worry about it and leave it at that regardless of how hard she presses. I don't care if you sat home and jacked off all night

so I call myself slick and really tried to surprise my wife with the trip to hawaii, so I went through the labor of printing out an envelope and i put the tickets in the mailbox with the mail. even put a little postage stamp on it.
when she got home I wasn't there. I was expecting you know this call from her all excited or what not, didn't come. okay so i walk through the door and she is acting pretty normal. I'm like okay.. hey did you check the mail. yeah i checked it, you didn't get anything lol I'm like humm... you sure you checked the mail. she said yeah i checked it. long story short she thought it was junk mail and didn't bother opening it and threw it away lol. so i had to dig through the trash and get it out and give her the tickets. anyway she's very happy, just didn't go how i planned lol.

i saw something this morning on facebook about valentine's day:
" So today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man stnding in front of the Valentines card section contemplating which one to get. I decide to go over and I ask him “Are you getting a Valentine’s Day for your wife?” in which he replies 'No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart' "

I think the old man is a DJ.
He is showing respect towards her dead wife. Nothing "AFC" about it. Women, especially older (in my range it goes from 19xx-1970) , like flowers and that ****. Simply because it was 'actual' in that time to do that. Today it's considered pathetic. Bringing woman a flower or some little gift for Valentines, Mothers day , her Birthday or something like that is not AFC.
It is AFC if you bombard her with gifts out of nowhere even if she didn't do nothing to gain your respect.
