undecisive about hairstyle

i don't know wether i should keep my hair as it is (it looks very good when i keep it wet and nice and my girlfriend loves it, but if i don't take care of it constantly, it gets nerdy and weird) or trim it shorter (my gf would hate me for it, but it'd look good anyway, plus i could sport different hairstyles with that length, and i shouldn't worry about it becoming messy, since it would still be cool)

what would you do if you were in this situation?

I have short brown hair, and UNLESS i go out i never comb it. I wash it, blow it, and it falls down to it's place. I spike it up when i go out.

i'm wondering if i should keep it as yours, maybe just a little bit long so the curls are visible (girls seem to dig them a lot over here), but my girl says it looks better when it's pretty long... the fact is, unless i take care of it at least 2 or 3 times a day, it looks somewhere between nerdy-messy and afro...

My hair is similar to yours...Right now it's pretty short and I love how convenient it is, it always looks presentable even when I just roll out of bed...But there's definite a certain appeal to longer hair as well, and not as many guys can pull it off.

I tried growing mine out as requested by (now ex) wife. Like you it took a lot of care to look right. Some days looked good others not as good (I thought). So now I keep it pretty short on top and just got some clippers today so I can keep the sides nice and tight. I go for more of a euro hair look which seems to suit me best. And it's a hell if a lot more convenient.

I'd go with a shorter/medium length... You can always put gel or wax in it if your going out somewhere. I usually keep my sides shorter and have more hair on the top.
