if a famous comedian started this post, would you nay-sayers have questioned this idea so much?

some of the funniest stand up commedians just tell stories that really happened to them.
Example: Richard Pryor, very funny man, managed to light his own @ss on fire while doing some drug, starts runnin down the street...still on fire.
Most people would try to forget about such an embarasing experience. Richard stands on a stage tellin everybody about it, and i quote "When you're on fire, everone gets out of your way, except one old drunk askin 'Can i get a light?'"

When you get out there and stop worryin about what other people think of you--that's when you will get confidence and personal experiences to become your own person, not to mention having a ton of great stories to tell

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Quote taken from The SoSuave Guide to Women and Dating, which you can read for FREE.

That's just making fun of yourself. Not being so serious, it's definitely a plus. Making fun of yourself is hilarious. Calling yourself stupid names gets a crack outta people. Like in telling a story I'll say "My b1tchass had to go down to the store" or something like that. Calling yourself a *****ass is funny.

Look man, you're missing the goal behind the exercise. The goal is NOT TO CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK; so don't tell me that walking around backwards doesn't make you desirable to other people (i.e. they will think something bad about you). The entire point is to learn to do what YOU feel like, even if that makes other people think you're a weirdo or even, god forbid, if it makes you undesirable to some. You should live to entertain yourself, not fit into some mold. Besides, women are attracted to those with spontaneity who are free from society's chains. If you don't FEEL like walking around backwards, then don't. If it makes you laugh, then DO. What makes you desirable is beside the point. The point is to enjoy YOUR LIFE to the fullest. You can't do that always fretting about what the women will think.

If you want to conform, this exercise and the goal behind it aren't for you. It's for people like me who needed a concrete way to add spontaneity to life. I'm glad that I have.

Haha, oh. I definitely missed the backing me up vibe in your second post. All I heard was walking backwards makes you a weirdo (so what, if you think it's funny?). I've been known to be a bit slow at times, hehe.

If you found some use out of my ideas, then I'm glad. Best of luck man,

Good post...
You remind me of me a while back :D
Izza, your point is very good, but the way you bring it across doesn't really make it connect with a lot of people. There's a lot more to it than just walking backwards.

It also means lifting up your friends and throwing them a bit into the air for fun, it means tickling someone to get them to laugh, it means running up to a girl, sitting next to her and just playing with her for fun!
I mean, dating women shouldn't be about sex.

It should be about FUN!
Sex is fun, kissing is fun, laughing is fun, flirting is fun, everything is FUN! If you can't have sincere fun with a woman, or with your friends, you won't be getting nearly as many women as when you are, TRUST ME, I know.

I know we all have our own personalities on here. Some people don't really always feel like having fun. they'd rather sit at home behind their desk, typing up some post to some board. (Hey, that's me!)

Now, there's the people that DO have fun. They are out there right now with their friends, doing insane stuff and just basically doing everything they can to have fun.

Which one of these two do YOU think has more success with women?
It's not just a difference in situation, it's a difference in mentality. Whenever you're not enjoying yourself, you're not attractive. When you are, you are attractive.

Fun is like a drug.
Really, having fun is addictive to humans. It creates hormones in your brain that make you feel good. We all know this happens, right?
Now, think of what makes another person feel good. Is it fun, or is it sex? It's fun.

Now, unlike real drugs, the fun-drug is actually healthy for you, and gives you a longer, better life. This is also quite well known, isn't it?
So, why don't we all work as hard as we can to have fun, instead of working as hard as we can to make money?

Unfortunatly, a lot of us don't have any real sources to get our fun-drug hits from. So, they think... "Hey, I've always had fun with women! So, women are the source of my fun!" ... And they start coming to these boards, training to become better with women so they can have more fun. However, these women only give fun for a short part of the day, and don't intend to keep on giving unlimited supplies of fun if these guys are not giving them any fun back, now are they??

Now, what Izzo is suggesting (omg! what brilliance!) is to start getting your fun from other places as well!

Have fun doing crazy stuff.
Have fun playing sports you like.
Have fun doing the hobbies you like doing.
Have fun at your job. (Important!)
Have fun while flirting with the girl in your class.
Have fun having sex with a girl.

The basic ingredient for happiness in a human is: Fun

Get it! :D

Girls just wanna have fun.

Good points, fun is good.

I was talking about this oddly enough with a gas station clerk, he comes back and says: "Well .. like they said in The Shining, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". I had to laugh at this.

Now here's where the bottleneck is .. if your idea of fun is doing math and computer stuff, or anything technical, then you have to try and do other things like outdoor stuff, which is hard for your per se computer nerd. Why do you think alot of posters on this board (including Pook, and Anti-Dump) are computer nerds? They're always at the machine, much like myself suffice it to say. I should be out having 'fun' with said girlfriend, but my girlfriend's boyfriend isn't me - at least yet :)

If you have to do it, you will not enjoy it.
Something that you are forced into, or force yourself into, can never be fun, regardless of what it is or what may come of it.
I don't know why the world works this way, but it does.

Everything is fun until you actually start doing it, because then it becomes work.

Please, don't tell me you're having a lot of fun while sitting behind your computer.
Sitting behind a computer is fun for the lazy, but the amount of enjoyment it gives me is minimal to say the least. I know that you know this - you just haven't acted on it yet!
Real-life fun is so much more fulfilling than any computer-fun can ever will be. Fine, it has become a very versatile piece of equipment that has achieved the potential to let us turn ourselves into zombies (sounds weird, but true huh?), but that doesn't mean any true Don Juan should ever LET it become that.

Please, guys, stop thinking that you can recieve real joy from technical things such as a computer - it's the random, unpredictable nature of life that makes it enjoyable. Computers are predictable, safe and boring.

Now I bet some of you are thinking "But I've already spent most of my life practicing on computers, why should I give up all that training?" ...
Why should you give up all that training your mom gave you on women? Why shouldn't you let women run all over you? Some decisions suck, but they need to be made.

Ofcourse, I'm not saying all computer based things are bad, but a lot of things are.
I'm personally starting up something that should let me have a LOT of fun for the next 5 to 10 years of my life, while making money at the same time, using computers part of the time. I can't really disclose too much about it, but let's just say it's entertainment based, so there's plenty of real-life things to do :)

There's also things like creating art on your computer, which is a great thing to do. I've been doing this since I was 11 and I'm a natural at it now. I'm not about to give that up, but I'm only going to do it when I feel like it, not when I don't have anything else fun to do.

There's plenty of fun things out there for you to do, all you have to do is get off your ass and do them!

Sounds to me like fun lies not in what you do but how you perceive it and react to it.

Cheers Ryan Killa, glad you got some use out of my post.

Hey I-am-someone,

Sorry, been a bit busy and couldn't respond sooner. It's funny how your post about how life and dating should be fun was exactly what was forming in my mind just before you posted. I think that's the realization my brain was trying to come to at the beginning of the post - but hadn't quite made it there yet.

You're absolutely right, the primary aim should be fun - fun conversation, fun just talking to HBs, fun hellos. Everyone always says "be yourself." It's funny how that takes practice, isn't it?

Only when you get a clear mental image of who you SHOULD be in a situation, can you be comfortable. It takes time to learn how to be a fun person in new social situations (i.e. trying to pick up chicks). AFCs find it hard to just "be themselves," learning to just have fun takes time, time getting over the phobias, and learning what talking to women is like.

Life is weird I guess.

Results?

Cheers MarkHenry, glad you found this post useful.

I'm curious, what did people who liked the idea do as a random thing?

I went to Quebec City and did a whole bunch of fun, random stuff on Wednesday, but I want to hear from you first.

Cheers Freeman and HPNOTIQ,

You guys do anything random to entertain yourself? Life feels much better now - I do random stuff when I want to entertain myself, and if, for some strange reason, I want someone to think I resemble a normal person, I tone the weirdness down. Life is freer. Just a thought as I procrastinate on my papers.

hey izza, put your suit jacket on backwards, and place your tie going down your back. Then walk around backwards chanting, "I'm the backwards man, i'm the backwards man"

Tom Green did it.

Yo, that would be awesome!

Next time I wear a suit, I'm doing that for sure.
