Tips for getting ABS??

Can anyone give me any tips for getting a six-pack of abs?

I goto the gym a lot and my arms/legs are fairly big, but abs are the one part of my body I need to work on more.

What are some tips? I know what you eat is very important, and so are sit-ups/carido. But what are some other tips/advice?

lower you b.f.%, no matter how many sit ups, crunches you do, you wont see that six pack till the flab is gone.

abs have very little correlation with muscle. charm is right when he says it depends on BF% it's all about diet

a famous quote in my other h&f forum is:

"abs are made in the kitchen"

I don't have much body fat at all, but I eat A LOT (steak, chicken, pasta, fish, you name it)! My mother always said "I eat like a horse".

I eat a lot of high-protein foods to build muscle after work-outs, but my gut is gradually getting bigger.

Maybe I should cut down on beer too???

if you are eating more calories than you are expending, you will gain weight, depending on how clean the food you eat is, you may gain a little pudge.

you can't reduce fat, and gain lean muscle at the same time, bulk now, then cut. don't worry so much about abs, if you lift huge, your metabolism will take care of them for you

Make abs bigger. Weighted decline sit ups with good form (no bending back).

I don't understand :confused: . Because i actually am really skinny. I haven't measured my BF% , but i have really skinny arms/legs/wrists and have been skinny all my life. People have even told me I'm skinny. But whenever i tense my abs you can just slightly see a 4 pack, so it must mean I've got weak abs right? So i wouldn't have to lower my body fat, just do some ab exercises to make them stronger and stick out more? I mean all my fat can't just be concentrated around my abdominal area, and leave other parts of my body literally fat less.

No, you simply need to build your abs.. you can be sub10% bodyfat and still have poor abs simply because they're not developed enough to show. See Spesmilitis' post.

Yeah i was slightly confused because people are always saying the only way you can get your abs to show is by losing BF, cheers anyway.

Yeah, that IS the way to get your abs to show.. but it doesn't work if you have no abs in the first place.
