"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

i kind of got thrown off today. i was talking to two girls on my crew team (one of which i ****ed, the other just hooked up with) and they were knocking me for being an "overachiever" and having goals. at first i thought they were kidding and doing that to **** with me, but it seems like they were dead serious about it.

is it because i make them look bad, or are they somehow honestly not attracted to a goal oriented man?

i'm definitely thinking the former, but i'd like some feedback nonetheless.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I'm no expert but I'll take a stab...

If they were serious... than they definately felt inferior to you. You indimidated them because you made them insecure about their own lives. That's not a good basis of a relationship.... but as a **** buddy it will do.

It much the same reason some girls don't like pretty boys. They are supposed to be the 'pretty' ones... not their man! haha. They feel inferior to their man because of this and it will never work.

possibly. also, i failed to mention this. the girl that i hooked up with was the one who made the comment really, and she's been trying to win my approval as of lately. i can tell though that once i stop being a challenge she'll lose interest and it's just to fuel her own ego. so i guess in the bigger picture, what she said is just showing her insecurity.
