You guys talk about banging all the women makes you alpha or a real man , the people that are in health care atm Doctors nurses etc have more balls than you guys , a real man wants to help people such as family parent’s friends etc it’s time to rethink what life is all about , care for others that’s what real men do !!

What is a good (so-called) "Alpha" example?

A: those in the medical profession that get interrupted phone calls during a sound sleep from nurses, receive annoying questions from family, friends and acquaintances (wanting free medical advice and only contacting for that reason) sometimes working 12+ hour shifts and put aside college partying for studying.
or
B: Some internet stranger on the so suave forum that claims that women are obliging their every whim?

I think that I'll agree with the OP and choose the answer "A."

It’s not always either or. Some of us do both. I work 12+ hour shifts generating the electricity that keeps those hospitals and the professionals up and running, not to mention the police departments, security systems and many other things that’s keeping society as civil as it is right now.

It’s not just doctors and nurses keeping the powder keg from exploding.

OP is just being a grandstanding **** to the many people here who play bigger roles behind the scenes than he realizes.

And I do ok with the ladies too....

By that definition, the biggest alpha is the illegal alien working in the fields or at a meatpacking plant. Without food we’d all be dead.

By this definition, the most alpha person is the illegal Mexican worker picking fruits and vets lee

Lots of people play critical roles. That’s the point.

But on a side note, Only about 4% of illegals actually work in agriculture. Most are in hospitality, services and transportation, which is taking some of the hardest hits right now. The big bulk of agriculture is automated these days. Machines.

You would still eat if these illegal workers vanished, or at least fair much better than if the entire power grid went down. Imagine that happening on top of the hoarding and panic that’s already out there now....

I really do feel for the people who are working in health care right now because they are on the front lines, and they tend to be overworked to begin with. That's probably only going to get worse in the weeks to come.

The current crisis has given me more appreciation for all workers in our society though. Workers in the grocery and service industry are out there everyday while most of us are under quarantine. Everyday heroes.

Spare me the bullsh*t.

You don’t have to ignore women in order to help people, and living a life with women in it doesn’t mean you’re not helping someone.

You sound like a virgin who just discovered an opportunity to jump on the soapbox to preach how superior he is for it.

Get a life.

The bulk of power generation is automated as well.

In any event, the point is that one’s “alphaness” has no correlation with how “critical” his chosen profession is. Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos (neither of whom I particularly like) may be total nerds but they are a million times more alpha than your average cop or electrician. Almost anyone can be a cop or an electrician with proper training. Almost no one can be the founder of a multi-billion dollar company.

That’s because being an alpha means having a vision, the intelligence and grit needed to execute that vision, and also to be wiling to take risks, while at the same time possessing an excellent gut instinct to prevent you from taking stupid and unnecessary risks. In other words, being an alpha means having the ability to come out on top in a high stakes game. Doesn’t really matter what the game is. Could be military, politics, business or whatever, as long as it’s a competitive field. Alphas are competitors by definition.

Those medical people wouldn't be able to use their ambulance trucks without automobile engineers, or use their electronic health systems without IT professionals, or be able to take their 15 minute naps without bed makers. What about building engineers? Someone had to design the hospitals right? What about construction workers? Do hospitals build themselves? And let's not forget the real unsung heroes- the hazardous waste management people. Without them, hospitals wouldn't even be able to run. The amount of hazardous waste material going in and out of hospitals is tremendous. It's not a "sexy" profession that gets you noticed like a doctor but someone has to do it to keep the well oiled machine running.

Just because you are not in the front lines does not mean you are not contributing to the cause. I am sure members here have various careers that indirectly contribute somehow to the cause and society at large. Feels like I'm explaining life to a 6 year old kid.

Respectfully, you'd be surprised what I can do without electricity. You should had seen some of the stuff we had to do within the air transportable hospital in a combat zone. In these times, we need BOTH... Skilled medical and IT/electrical/nuclear workers in the 21st century. One is NOT better than the other. We know what we know, and they know what they know. I wouldn't ask @Amante Silvestre to help me stabilize a trauma patient, just like I do not believe he'd ask me to man the electrical grid while he's taking care of something else. We all, as a community, work together both in times of peace and in times of crisis.

I run a distribution company, which ensures that people don't starve(or run out of TP), while they're self-quarantining/sheltering-in-place. We can't shut down, or everything else does(medical supplies, etc). We all do our part...all of us who must.
