She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
I know, but I feel like I went to Avon Grove for coach, and felt like skipping this game is something I should do for me.NorwegianDJ said:A bit selfish. I think this has the opportunity to teach you a lot. Look at it differently and approach it in a way that works out for everyone.
Consider everything that has led up to you crying. Im sure you read my journal and you can surely relate to when it happened to me. See if you can learn from it. It makes you a lot better.
You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.
Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.
She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.
Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
What would you recommend doing then?Jack Wealthy said:Stay positive man. Drink some tea and be classy like me.
I used to play volleyball too and I usually got 3/4 play time even though I was one of the weaker players. The reason why is because I was a really good sportsmen in general. I would always encourage everyone before the game and shake hands with all the other teams players.
For the senior week thing I'd say it's a weekend that has to be memorable and to make it memorable it has to be an adventure. If it's just you guys going out together it will be exactly like every school day before it, if it's just going to bars it will be just like every weekend after it.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
Yes Nick it is worth the hassle because otherwise we could all get arrested for possesion of marijuana...Nick1886 said:Let them smoke man, is it really worth the hassle otherwise?
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Cmon man...it's my location, every time I post.apocolipto said:Loved the story!! I wish something like that could happen to me!
Where do you live?
Exactly what I was trying to say before I got told off for speaking sense. In don't know about the US but getting caught with a joint in the UK isnt an arrestable offence anyway, people just tend to ignore itLearningSlowly said:I'm sure you know already that you overreacted about weed. Many people view it as less of a drug than alcohol. I know you're worried about legality, but honestly, a lot of people smoke on the beach. I'm sure nothing bad would have happened. Encourage people to have fun, don't discourage it.
I don't think I overreacted about the weed. My request was simple and I was effectively lied to after I thought the issue had been taken care of.LearningSlowly said:I'm sure you know already that you overreacted about weed. About Gianina... hmm. Sounds like you're placing a lot of importance on sex. To the extent that she felt you didn't want to actually see her, just wanted to have sex with her. Next time become really close with one of her friends and get her to wing you (one drunken emotional conversation where you reveal small secrets to one another will generally make this bond). Then say "Help me get Gianina alone" and she can probably distract the other friend.
You got mad options right now. I wouldn't drive that far with Brianna though, just fvck her in the car near her house. Also, meet some new girls, so you can keep the momentum up.
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
