tbh that's all good advice when you really think about it, observe:

if you copy someone or otherwise fake your personality
1) you'll be a cheap imitation of someone, a poor man's X
2) if you drop the act any girls who like you for the act will lose interest
3) if you keep the act, be prepared to indefinitely fake your personality to keep your girl
4) it's extremely unlikely you'll be able to completely keep up a fake persona in the long term, she'll eventually figure it out, or your real personality will slip through enough to turn her off
5) if she likes the real you... then there was no reason to fake anything, you wasted time and effort.

this is true, but crap advice. that would work out perfectly if she already liked you... and work out very badly if she doesn't.
