"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

This is advice that I wish I had known several years ago regarding being friends with girls. I have seen several topics on this subject where people will say be friends with a girl and maybe she has hot friends, etc, etc. That isn't being friends with her, thats using her. What I'm talking about is actually being friends where you care about this girl. What I had heard and in the back of my mind was that guys and girls CAN'T BE FRIENDS IN THE LONG-TERM. My advice to you is don't even play that friendship game, with the hopes she will fall for you. You may get lucky and she will, but she more than likely won't and will end up in the long term not talking to you at all. From what I've experienced, girls like to have guys as friends to fall back to, to stroke their little egoes when things fall through with their boyfriends. Then they will act like they care, then they will be your friend. However, in case you don't know, the minute someone cones along that they like they kick ya to the curb.
Don't bother playing that song and dance game with girls. They may say they "love you like a brother" but what they mean is "they think of you as someone they don't want to have sex with." They don't "love you", you are there to give her attention when no other guy will. Get off playing that game and develop better friendships with guys. You don't get anything from a friendship with a girl that you can't get with a guy and its a hell of a lot less complicated.
Rant over, just trying to help other guys out, I learned the hard way.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

sooo i'm assumeing you got burned by a chick that LJBF'ed you.. look its one thing to "be friends" with a girl and another to "beeee friends" with a girl what's the difference?

A straight friend that's a chick gets a call from me every few days, weeks or whatever maybe there's something going on and i'm bored.

a "friend" is a girl that you've had something with in the past, and just put her on the backburner and keep takeing her off periodiclly keeping it sexual the entire time. As long as you keep it sexual with your "friend" you will never truely fall into the Pit of Total friend/emotional tampon

that's the gist of how things go when you wanna be friends with a chick.

Empax!

IMO, difference between a prospect and female friend is that you keep advancing with a prospect, with a friend youre at a flirt platau. Bones is a good example (Thrsdays on Fox).

If you were LJBFed, thats not a friend, and if you have a friendship like that then youre an Empax! The way to be friends with a girl is to LJBF her.

Yeah I only wish it was "let's just be friends". To be honest I did like her, but she was more like a sister to me and I truly did care about her and want to see her do good, so if we never went out it wasn't going to hurt me. We texted back and forth several times a week and hung out about once or twice a month. I was friends with her and her family and she would often times say she "loved me like a brother" and valued my "friendship. You know I wanted more, but i enjoyed the time i had and began to almost think of her as another of my guy friends. Well her boyfriend didn't like it so much and told me to "F*** off" 1 day texting me from her phone and she doesn't talk to me anymore. Shoot I have girls I message online or talk to when I see from work or school, but what I was talking about I guess is having a friendship where you really care about them, you'll get burned because it won't last over time.

You can be friends with a girl if you have absolutely no desire to have sex with them. Otherwise, you're being a phony. You're most likely "friends" with the hope that SHE'LL choose for you to be "more than friends" down the road.
So in the end, you're not talking about friendship at all.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
