"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Just wanted to thank all of the contributors to making this site. I recently came here because I had the wrong idea about how to express my affections for women. I just was not checking my emotion and was letting them run wild on purpose. I wanted to let the raw emotion of love control my actions and live my life governed by what I was feeling at the moment. I felt I was being true to myself and those around me. I just wanted to experience the visceral emotions of love in my life unchecked. And coming here made me understand that this is wrong. A man needs to control his emotions and not let his emotions control him. I am now thinking with my mind first and my heart second. And this is making me happy, and proud of myself. Honestly I was feeling a bit childish before. So Thank You! this is a great site for men. Dating can be tricky and it's very easy to make mistakes that may cost you a potential life changing relationship.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Most, if not all, problems in a man's life are caused by not keeping his emotions in check.

It's very tempting to live a life ruled by your feelings and what feels good. But that is a one-way ticket to complete self-destruction. It will destroy your health, career/business, financial situation, relationships, family, etc.

I cant agree more Mike, I was allowing this to happen in my relationships because I thought that is what it was all about. But recently I have been dating someone who really has no control over her emotions and that sent me flying all over the place. I just had the frame of mind that to allow myself to feel all of these things was "living life". Well I still "live life" just a bit more composed and much happier.
