Regardless, the idea that either you or her is “trying less” is enough to give someone the ick. This is a completely different situation than someone that lives near you....you have short period of "x" amount of time to make things happen and you both know it.

I would be far more aggressive in that way than normal to try and make something happen in a similar way that you stated in this situation.

If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen and then you can focus on other targets.

In this situation, knowing the outcome with certainty is a huge advantage for your mindset.
