"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Each of the few times recently I got a girls number, exchanged a few texts to open it, then go for setting up the date. I have been being assertive as prescribed here. "Meet me thursday night at x" etc. The one I just sent was "I'm out of town for work this week, lets get together next week". This was after a little funny banter. I had to open her, but I wasnt going to sit around and text her all week. She responded with "yes sir". I have been getting responses like this lately. Really reeks of passive aggressive annoyance at my assertiveness.

Is this a **** test? Should I respond? My curent plan would be to text her again on Sunday to set up the date next week.

That approach is right, but he timing is premature. You need to get a conversation going first.

In this case wait a week and try to get a conversation going again, but better yet see her again at her work, etc.

I met her on Sat. Opened her with text on Monday. We've exchanged a few texts with long reply times yesterday and today. I cant really hang out until next Thur. I am trying to keep texting to a minimum and push for the date, but it is a week off. What do you do from here?

1) Wait
2) Try to see her in person
3) Ask her out if she doesn't reach out within a week
